Make long PDFs easy to navigate

A 60-page report without bookmarks means endless scrolling. List your sections as page number and title, one per line, and this tool writes real PDF bookmarks - the outline that appears in the sidebar of Acrobat, Chrome, Edge and most PDF readers - and can also insert a contents page at the front where every line is a link to its page.

Page numbers always refer to your original document, even when the contents page is added in front, so you can copy them straight from your reader. The PDF is processed on your own device and never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop in your PDF.
  2. Type one entry per line, e.g. 5: Chapter 1.
  3. Choose sidebar bookmarks, a contents page, or both, then click Add Bookmarks and download.

PDF Bookmark Editor โ€” Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between bookmarks and the contents page?

Bookmarks live in the reader's sidebar and don't change the pages. The contents page is a real extra page at the front of the document with a clickable link on every line - useful when the PDF will be printed or read on devices that hide the sidebar.

Will it keep my existing bookmarks?

No - the new list replaces the PDF's existing outline, so include every entry you want to keep.

Can I use Thai or other non-English titles?

Yes. Titles are stored as Unicode, and the contents page embeds a font that matches your script.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser and your file never leaves your device.
